Metal Cleaner

Rapid mineral scale removal acid based cleaners for membrane systems.

Product Description:

ORG 75 Membrane Clean MC Acid Cleaner - a highly acidic liquid cleaner developed for effective cleaning of reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), ultrafiltration (UF), and microfiltration (MF) membrane systems that are acid-tolerant.
Its formulation is designed to dissolve inorganic scales, metallic hydroxides, and other acid-soluble foulants, restoring membrane performance and extending membrane life.

Product Application:

Key Areas of Application of Membrane Cleaning Acidic Cleaners

  • Cleaning of acid-tolerant RO, NF, UF, and MF membranes.
  • Removal of calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, strontium sulfate, and iron hydroxide scales.
  • Preventive maintenance to minimize pressure drop and restore normalized flow.
  • Suitable for use in industrial, municipal, and desalination plants.
Product Procedure:

Usage Guide of Acidic Membrane Cleaner 75

Preparation of Cleaning Solution
  • Use RO permeate or deionized water for dilution.
  • Recommended working concentration: *0.3% - 0.5% v/v (≈ 3 L of RXSOL ORG 75 Membrane Cleaner in 1000 L of water).

Cleaning Procedure

1. System Preparation
  • Flush the membrane system with RO permeate or DI water to remove feedwater.
  • Isolate the system and drain as required.

2. Solution Preparation
  • Prepare the cleaning solution in the CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) tank at * 0.3% v/v.
  • Mix gently until homogeneous.

3. Circulation Phase
  • Circulate the solution through the membrane system for 30–60 minutes.
  • Maintain flow rates recommended by the membrane manufacturer.
  • Keep temperature below 35 °C (95 °F) for safe cleaning.

4. Soak Phase (Optional for Severe Scaling)
  • Stop circulation and allow the membranes to soak for 1–2 hours.
  • Restart circulation for an additional 15–20 minutes.

5. Rinsing
  • Thoroughly flush the system with RO permeate or DI water until the rinse water pH is close to feedwater level.
  • Resume normal operation only after confirming system stabilization.

Frequency of Use

Apply cleaning in one of the two cases:
  • Normalized flow decreases by 10–15%, or
  • Differential pressure increases by 15–20%.

Regular preventive cleaning is recommended to avoid irreversible fouling.

Important Notes
  • Do not exceed recommended dosage unless advised.
  • Always check membrane manufacturer’s chemical tolerance guidelines (pH, temperature, compatibility).
  • Dispose of spent solution in compliance with local environmental regulations.

*NOTE: Dosage entirely depends on the system condition and heaviness of scale deposit

Product Note:
Features of Acidic Cleaner Membrane Cleaning Liquid
  • Highly Effective Cleaning – Rapidly dissolves inorganic scales, carbonate deposits, and metallic hydroxides to restore membrane performance.
  • Low Dosage Requirement (0.3%) – Achieves excellent results at very low concentrations, reducing chemical consumption and cost.
  • Membrane Compatible – Safe for use with acid-tolerant RO, NF, UF, and MF membranes within OEM-recommended pH ranges.
  • Extended Membrane Life – Prevents irreversible fouling, minimizing the need for premature membrane replacement.
  • Operational Efficiency – Restores normalized flow and reduces pressure drop, improving overall system productivity.
  • Versatile Use – Effective in industrial, municipal, food & beverage, and desalination applications.
  • Environmentally Safer Option – Non-flammable formulation, easy to handle and store compared to stronger mineral acids.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQs on Membrane Cleaning Liquid

Q1. What is ORG 75 Membrane Cleaning Acid used for?
ORG 75 is an acidic membrane cleaner designed to remove inorganic scales, carbonates, sulfates, and iron deposits from RO, NF, UF, and MF membrane systems that are acid-tolerant.

Q2. Why is the recommended dosage only 0.3%?
Even at a low concentration (~0.3% v/v), it provides sufficient acidity to dissolve mineral scales without exceeding the pH limits recommended by membrane manufacturers. This ensures safe but effective cleaning.

Q3. How often should I clean with ORG 75 Membrane Cleaning Acid?
Cleaning is recommended when:
  • Normalized permeate flow drops by 10–15%, or
  • Differential pressure rises by 15–20%.
For preventive maintenance, many plants schedule cleaning every 3–6 months, depending on feedwater quality.

Q4. Is ORG 75 Membrane Cleaning Acid compatible with all membranes?
It is compatible with most acid-tolerant RO, NF, UF, and MF membranes. However, always verify with the membrane manufacturer’s chemical compatibility guidelines.

Q5. Can ORG 75 Membrane Cleaning Acid  be used at higher concentrations for severe fouling?
Yes, in exceptional cases of heavy scaling, higher concentrations (up to 0.5–1.0%) may be used, but only under the advice of the membrane OEM or a water treatment specialist.

Q6. Is ORG 75 Membrane Cleaning Acid  safe to handle?
It is a corrosive acidic liquid. Operators must wear gloves, goggles, and protective clothing during use. It is safer than stronger mineral acids like HCl, but still requires standard chemical handling precautions.

Q7. What happens if the cleaning solution is reused?
A solution can sometimes be reused if not heavily contaminated, but effectiveness drops as it neutralizes during cleaning. For best results, prepare a fresh 0.3% solution for each CIP cycle.

Q8. How should ORG 75 Membrane Cleaning Acid  be stored?
Store in tightly closed HDPE containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from strong alkalis and oxidizers. Avoid freezing and direct sunlight. Shelf life is 24 months.
